The Unwanted Inheritance

A film that highlights the courage and strength of people who live with the hereditary and incurable Huntington’s disease. The Unwanted Inheritance portrays Anja, Jutta, Yves, Marleen and Mario, residents of Home Marjorie, the only nursing home for Huntington’s patients in Flanders. Although they are very different, there is one thing that binds them: their illness. The film shows how they struggle through their daily lives during their irreversible, gruelling journey through physical and mental decline, with only their humour and small happiness as a medicine to ease the suffering.
